Product Description
An open measuring cell intended for investigating solid or gel-like sample in contact with metal electrodes.
The cell has a ball-and-socket joint contact and is therefore usable with slightly non-parallel solid samples.
Since the cell is open to atmosphere, only non-volatile, non-air- or moisture-sensitive samples can be readily measured.

Detailed Description
The measuring cell TSC SW Open consists of a gold-plated thermo block with integrated Pt100 temperature sensor and a housing made of PEEK. The surface of the thermo block exhibits a circular cavity with a diameter of 12 mm. A metal disc of the same diameter is put into the cavity and serves as sample mount as well as lower electrode/current collector. The metal disc can be made of stainless steel, copper or nickel and can be plated with gold on demand. The upper electrode is also a metal disc with a diameter of 12 mm and is made either of stainless steel, copper or nickel. The upper current collector can be exactly positioned in a very smooth way by means of a micrometer screw. Thus, the measuring cell comes with the following parts:
  • 1 gold-plated thermo block with integrated Pt100 temperature sensor and cavity for disc electrodes with a diameter of 12 mm
  • 1 housing made of PEEK including 1 o-ring (EPDM)
  • 2 one-sided polished stainless steel disc electrodes with a diameter of 12 mm; on demand, all disc electrodes can be plated with gold
  • 1 electrode plug with stainless steel disc electrode (connected via a ball joint; 12 mm diameter, one-sided mirror-like polished)

  • Maximum diameter for round samples: 12 mm; maximum side length for rectangular samples: 8.4 mm
  • Cell materials: gold-plated copper with nickel interlayer (thermo block), with or without gold coating (disc electrodes and ball joint electrode)
  • USB plug with integrated Pt100 temperature sensor inside thermo block
  • Comes with one electrode plug with ball joint electrode, front-end mirror-like polished
  • Temperature range (operation): -40 °C to +100 °C depending on sample amount and dew point
  • Temperature range (storage): +10 °C to +30 °C

The measuring cell is not suitable for investigation of samples containing volatile components.
